Third Annual
Creston-Kootenay Lake Gran Fondo.

What is a Gran Fondo? Generally a ride of greater length, usually 100 miles or 160 km(or longer) and often of greater difficulty and that can be completed in 6-8 hours.

Gran Fondo - 164 km ride with 1750 m of vertical rise through the farmlands of the Creston Valley , to the south end of Kootenay Lake and then to the start of Crawford Bay(turn around is at the Lakeview Store). Return is reverse with an added loop up and over the Lakeview-Arrow Creek switchbacks, through Canyon-Lister almost to the US border and then back to the start. This ride has a signficant uphill at starting at 125k through 130k which is the QOM/KOM. This is an absolutely spectacular ride; mountain views, lake views, farmland, rolling hills, a challenging uphill and a feeling of accomplishment when you are done.

The ride is a tad longer this year than in years past so the course hours will be extended until 6 pm which is an extra hour.
